Xbox 360 Elite System

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 elite system is the newest kid on the block – the latest video game console to hit the market. Just what is its selling point over the previous models, the Pro and Core versions of the Xbox? What makes it shine? (Aside from its metallic black finish, of course.)

The Xbox 360 Elite system hosts a number of improvements over the previous iterations. Instead of the usual 20Gb of hard drive space, the Xbox 360 Elite system has 120Gb of space – which is perfect if you want to store a lot of multimedia files in your console. With 120Gb of space, you can stash game files, tons of saved games, profiles, and other media files such as audio files and even high-definition videos. All this, of course, you will have to download over Xbox Live, which the Elite is perfectly capable of connecting to.

The Xbox 360 Elite system is also equipped with an HDMI full output feature. That is great news for gamers who also happen to own home theatre systems that can generate up to 1080p of high definition video quality. With HDMI interconnection facilities, you can play videos in full high definition, instead of just 1080i of component video, or normal VGA at 1080p.

There are also accessories included in the Xbox 360 Elite system. Among these include the Xbox wireless controller, which is colored black and can be recharged using its dedicated charging unit. It has an effective range of around 30 feet. There is also the AV cable used for HDMI interconnectivity, an AV cable for component HD and standard audio cable inputs, other audio and video cables, and an Ethernet cable for connecting to Xbox Live. It also includes a headset which is colored – you guessed, it – black. The headset allows the gamer to chat and send voice messages with online friends, enabling them to cook up strategies with their games or simply to mingle with who’s online.

The only thing missing with its accessories is a remote control (for multimedia playback and operations), so you will have to buy one at $20. You can also get the remote control when you purchase the HD DVD player add-on for the Xbox 360 Elite system. If you want to transfer your existing content from your old Xbox to your new Xbox 360 Elite system, you can do so using a hard drive transfer cable. Simply plug the two consoles together and transfer the files.

This version of the may be a bit pricey, and may be unnecessary for some gamers, but with the inclusion of HDMI capabilities, an HD DVD player, and a whopping 120Gb hard drive, the Xbox 360 Elite system may be the best bargain for your money.
